Directly following the events from the first God of War (PS2), God of War: Ghost of Sparta will follow Kratos on his quest via the PSP handheld system. Developed by Ready at Dawn Studios, the same team who brought us God of War: Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta is not only aiming to run much longer than its predecessor, it’s also being released on a very crowded date.

It seems that price is no obstacle for fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as the sales for the downloadable map packs have reached 20 million as of late. The Stimulus and Resurgence packs, when put together, feature six totally new maps and four regurgitations of familiar landscapes from Call of Duty 4. Gamers who are familiar with the series are paying $30 dollars for content that’s technically semi-old. Are we that attached to this FPS that we’re willing to pay for maps that are obviously overpriced? And how much damage are the suckers who bought these map packs doing to their fellow gamers?

Since confirming the game’s development, Codemasters has kept a tight lid on the next iteration in their acclaimed Colin McRae Rally series. But if you were flipping through The X-Games on ESPN this weekend you probably caught a glimpse of the debut trailer of the anticipated racer, DiRT 3. The British developer will surely build upon its Guinness Award winning physics and audio to continue the franchise’s success. Judging from the revved engines and visceral graphics, it looks like DiRT 3 will give racing enthusiasts much to look forward to.

The Resurgence Pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is priced at $15 (1200 Microsoft Points), and contains three new multiplayer levels and two classic multiplayer levels from the first Modern Warfare title. The Xbox 360 version was released first, but the PS3 version is also available. The inclusion of older maps was a great way for Infinity Ward and Activision to artificially raise the price of this DLC pack, but unfortunately the final product falls short of expectations.
