The guys at EA are taking strides to improve the gameplay of their 7th generation console basketball sim by revamping its physics system. With its annual NBA installment, NBA Elite 11, EA will integrate a new physics engine dubbed “Real Physics.” A problem that sports sims have is that of “canned animations,” which is a predetermined animation for a specific move that locks out the control of a player until the animation is finished. For a competitive game these animations can really take away from the experience as the gamer does not have the necessary responsive controls to react to his opponent, something that EA has been hard at work to eliminate.

If you’ve played Plants vs. Zombies, you’ve probably recognized the “Dancing Zombie.” Dressed in a tight red leather jacket with matching too-short pants that reveal white socks topped off with curly hair, it was obvious to all that this zombie represented a parody of the late Michael Jackson. The games popularity has rose considerably the following months, calling the attention of the Jackson estate.
